Robert James Fabry, 91, of Culloden, W.Va., entered God’s presence Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was at home with his wife of 61 years, his caretaker and best friend, Kathryn S. Fabry.
Robert was born on February 16, 1920, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Muchy Fabry. Survivors include three beloved sons, John Robert Fabry and wife Kim of Bel Air, Maryland, David Alan Fabry and wife Susan of Huntington, W.Va., and Christopher Howard Fabry and wife Andrea of Vail, Arizona. Also survived by Elizabeth Salerno, sister, and husband James of Rockville, Maryland, and John Paul Fabry, brother, of Milton, W.Va. Preceded in death by Margaret Pruett, sister, and brothers Matthew Fabry and William F. Fabry. Surviving grandchildren are Rose Fabry of Auburn, Alabama, and Erin, Megan, Shannon, Ryan, Kristen, Reagan, Kaitlyn, Colin, and Brandon Fabry of Vail, Arizona, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
For 31 years Robert was employed by Union Carbide, South Charleston, W.Va. He retired in 1982 as an Operations Supervisor. He devoted his life to three great loves: farming, family, and faith. One of his favorite activities was to give his grandchildren rides on his tractor. He had a simple faith in God that saw him through many struggles and enabled him to show his heavenly Father’s love to his family and all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. J. Kenneth Mart officiating. Burial will follow in Culloden Cemetery.
